Teller Interview
I was ecstatic that Jade was finally here with me. I felt bad for condemning her to a life of a boring, small town but I couldn't help but be a little selfish and gleeful that she had moved here to join in on my everyday torture. Don't get me wrong, I loved Serenity. It was a quiet, peaceful town for the most part and actually really beautiful. It had great people and even the SoA were a nice addition - but when you grew up here you tended to overlook the nice facts. I knew I was doomed to stay here forever though so I couldn't help being a little bitter.
I spent the first night with Jade, talking and catching up while we loaded up on carbs and sugar - my favorites. We both passed out on the couch so when we woke up this morning we were more than a little stiff. I had to take a long, hot shower to work out the new kinks in my neck and when I was dressed, Jade took her shower and then we both left. We'd been in such a sugar coma that we nearly missed Jade's morning appointment with Jax for her interview.
I rushed her over to the garage and unconsciously made an effort to fix my shirt, make sure my hair wasn't standing up on end... no toilet paper hanging out of the back of my jeans, that sort of stuff. I was doing it of course, because I was attracted to Jax. I wasn't trying to sleep with him or anything, I thought he had plenty of girls to take that position. But I didn't want to look stupid either. I blushed and chuckled when Jade noticed and I promptly stopped and headed toward the garage with her.
"I hope you get this. I wanna keep you here."

Re: Teller Interview
Unlike Evelyn, I didn't feel like I was stuck in this town at all. In fact I couldn't imagine a better place to settle down. Granted Sam's grave was here and that was what mostly kept me in Serenity, but I was actually finding that I liked this place. Settling down was still new to me, even after a year but I was finding it easier than I would have thought. Giving up my hunting life wasn't so hard after all. Though after losing my brother I didn't feel the need to save the world anymore.. I didn't have anything left in it that I cared about. I hadn't even talked to Bobby in nearly a year. I had nothing left, and no one left, for me to care about.
What I did care about was my job. The cars and bikes that I worked on all day every day were my life. There was nothing more enjoyable than to get a car to run after it's owner had given up. I had to admit I liked the bikes a little bit more. I'd been watching Jax and the rest of his SoA boys. They're enthusiasm for their bikes was starting to rub off on me. Jax was slowly teaching me how to fix everything on them and I was enjoying my job. The rest of my life sucked ass but that part was nice at least.
I'd just brought a car around for the owner to pick up when I caught a glimpse of Evelyn and another woman that I'd never seen before. Evelyn was always around here because her car was constantly breaking down. Something that I gave her grief for every time she came around. Today however, I was taken off guard by the woman who was with her. She wasn't just gorgeous.. but sexy as hell. I'd been with a lot of girls but none of them compared to this one. I stopped, blinked and stared at her as they made they're way closer and it took me by complete surprise that I didn't have anything funny or witty to say to her.. I just stared at her with my mouth open until I realized what I was doing.
"Car break down again?" I chuckled quietly at Evelyn. I was still distracted by the brown beauty beside her. I eventually had to shake my head and look away and to Evelyn. "Your cousin? Jax is waiting for her."

Re: Teller Interview
Seeing Evie was exactly what I needed to cheer me up after my dad's death. I'd been so down and mopey that it was borderline pathetic. I'd hardly left my house, eaten, or done anything at all really for the two weeks since his death. Until her invitation to Serenity, that is. With nothing to keep me in Las Vegas, I packed my crap and got the hell out of there. I'd arrived the day before yesterday and Evie had helped me move everything in; then we'd spent all day yesterday hanging out and getting sugar high. It had been great and made me feel alive again.
After my shower, I got dressed and spent nearly the entire car ride telling Evie that her car needed some serious help. The thing sounded like it needed to be hooked up to life support or something. I wasn't even sure we'd make it to my interview without having to get out and walk. But, we made it and I snickered and teased Evie as she primped and fussed over herself. She'd told me a little about this Jax guy that I was going to see, so I figured she was doing it for his benefit. He was supposed to be a hottie.
"I hope so too. It'd be nice to live here with you" I smiled
I spotted a really attractive guy looking at us and was about to ask if he was Jax when he suddenly talked to Evie. I'd been admiring his eyes..and his rather nice body..until I realized he was talking to Evie like I couldn't speak or something. I rose an eyebrow at him, looked at Evie, and then looked up as a blond guy came out and started talking to me.

Re: Teller Interview
I actually enjoyed having Dean work for me. Sometimes he'd loosen up a little and joke around while he was working and he was hilarious then. I knew he'd lost his brother though, so I understood why most of the time he was a bit...mopey. It was the only reason I didn't hang out with him outside of work. It was a shame too; I had a feeling he would have made a great addition to the Sons of Anarchy. Evelyn was another person I enjoyed having work for me. She was bright and nice and a refreshing change from the air headed 'crow eaters', as we called the girls that slept around with the crew members. So when she'd asked me to interview her cousin, I couldn't say no.
I wasn't sure what to expect though. I mean..a chick working on cars and bikes? As a guy, that thought was too good to be true. If she knew her stuff though, I'd definitely hire her, even though I'd probably have to keep reminding the guys to work and not drool. Especially if she was half as pretty as Evelyn.
I'd been working on a bike in the back of the garage when I heard Evelyn's car coming. There was no mistaking the sound of that car. We'd all heard it so often here that we all knew when she drove up as opposed to anyone else. So, I wiped my hands off on a rag and made my way toward the front where I could hear Dean talking to Evelyn.
"Hey Evelyn" I smiled at her and then looked at the girl with her.
"You must be Jade. I'm Jax" I nodded and held my hand out and shook with her.
I glanced at Evelyn "Does she really know as much about cars and bikes as you claim or were you just flattering her?" I chuckled, eyeing her short cousin.
I had a hard time imagining the 5ft5 girl working on cars.

Re: Teller Interview
"Nah. I know Jax well enough that you'll get the job. He wouldn't pass on a sexy girl fixing cars." I chuckled. "And I know he can use the help."
I glared jokingly at Dean when he attempted to tease me about my car. He usually did better than that but when I glanced to the side to see that he was staring and nearly drooling over Jade, I chuckled and shook my head. Dean basically ignored everyone so I was surprised that he'd noticed Jade. That meant there was hope for him after all.
"Not fixing my car. It's running just fine!" I glanced back at my old pontiac that was rusted and nearly falling apart. The doors squeaked whenever I opened them and threatened to fall off and the engine? I couldn't even keep track of the knocks, squeals and grinding. I knew I needed to get another car because there was no hope of fixing my rusted piece of junk, but I couldn't afford it.
"Hey, Jax." I smiled at him and shot a glance at Jade to tell her not to make fun of me because my cheeks had turned a light shade of pink. They usually didn't because I could look and not be embarrassed but there was something about having Jade here and knowing that I found Jax attractive.
"Yes, she really knows what she's doing." I laughed. "I promise. She'll be perfect for ya."

Re: Teller Interview
I looked Evelyn's cousin over again when everyone started talking to her. She was pretty but there was more to her than that. I could see a sadness in her that I felt in myself and for a minute it made me uncomfortable. I didn't ever talk about Sam out loud, I thought about him constantly but I never talked about him. Seeing that same sadness there made me sad as Sam flitted across my mind again.
"I'm Dean." I said to her finally and held out my hand to shake hers. I gave a small smile when I felt how soft and small her hand was in mine. This was the first time in a year that sex settled into my brain and made me smirk slightly. I'd thought about it of course that wasn't something that would ever change with me but I hadn't bothered with it in the last year. I know, weird right?
"Nothing sexier than a girl that can fix cars. No offense, Evelyn." I chuckled at her. "Since we all know you couldn't fix one to save your life." I winked at her as she laughed at me and I nodded to the garage. "Want something cool to drink while Jax.. tests ya?"
I snickered, knowing Jax well enough that he was likely to bring her back to his office and bend her over his desk for the interview.

Re: Teller Interview
The corners of my mouth twitched in amusement at the blush in Evie's cheeks when she saw Jax. I was a good girl though and didn't say a word or make a sound to embarrass her. I shook hands with Jax and then turned and shook hands with Dean, smiling.
"Jade. Nice to meet you" I nodded
I rose an eyebrow at the way he talked about Jax testing me. The look on his face suggested something dirty was going to happen. I glanced at Jax and then back at Dean.
"A beer would be nice" I chuckled
I ran a hand through my hair and then looked at Jax again. "Alright, boss man, put me to the test. Ask me anything or point me at something that needs to be fixed" I smirked.
That'd be all he'd get from me. Answers and work. My cousin had a thing for him, so I wouldn't touch him. Besides, I didn't actually find Jax all that attractive. Now Dean on the other hand...I smirked slightly at the thought.

I laughed when Evelyn told me Jade would be perfect for me. "Not me, love, the shop" I winked
I looked at Dean and smirked when he finally started talking to Jade. It was nice to see him acting like a guy for a change. I rose an eyebrow at Jade when she told me to put her to the test.
"Hmm..ok. Come with me." I grinned and then motioned for all of them to follow me, not just Jade.
I led them to the back of the garage where I was working on the bike. We passed the beer cooler on the way and I grabbed a beer for me and one for Evelyn while Dean got one for him and Jade. Once we all had our beers, I led the way to the bike.
"Right, if you can tell me what's left to be done on this bike, you're hired" I smiled
I, of course, knew what needed to be done so I'd know if she was right or not.

Re: Teller Interview
"No for you, meaning the shop." I chuckled and shrugged. I wouldn't have hinted at anything between him and Jade simply because I didn't want to think of that option. I knew her well enough to know that she would have a thing for Dean though. The looks they shared confirmed that thought too. Not that I thought I was even remotely in Jax's league - but I at least didn't have to worry about my cousin. Just the rest of the slutty girls that were here or passed through town.
I followed everyone into the shop and took the beer as Jax handed it to me, then twisted off the top of the cold bottle. I wasn't a huge drinker but I could enjoy one or two once in awhile. Which was mostly when I was here or at the clubhouse. I tended to spend most of my time in one or the other. One was my job and the garage? Well, I spent most of my earnings from the first one in the second one.
When Jax put Jade to the test, I sat down in one of the swiveling chairs and took a small sip of my beer. I didn't know a thing about cars so Jax certainly didn't have to worry about me watching or helping. I felt insignificantly stupid compared to Jade and I knew how the guys thought a girl working on a care was 'sexy' too. I had two against me but I was okay with that. I may not have been the sexy girl Jade was but I liked the way I was. I kinda liked being the nerd, actually.

Re: Teller Interview
I noticed the twitch of Jade's lips and gave a snort and a shrug at her to tell her that this was something that I saw frequently. I suspected that even Jax knew that Evelyn had a thing for him. Which would explain why he was exra nice to her and hadn't slept with her yet. It was just like him to not want to hurt her. I might not have hung out with either of them after work but I'd seen enough during work to know them well enough.
"So why did you choose Serenity?" I asked her curious with a chuckle. "I'm surprised Evelyn didn't talk you out of it. She apparently hates it here, you know."
I followed Jax and grabbed a beer for me and Jade after he was out of the cooler. I handed Jade's to her and then headed over to the bike that Jax wanted her to tell him what was left to fix. I couldn't even tell him what was wrong witih it. It was slightly intimidating to know that, no doubt, a girl was going to know more than me. Which was actually pretty hot, I had to admit.
"Sure you didn't start her out too easy?" I snickered at Jax and then stood beside Jade to see what she would say. I was still curious about all of this and intimidating or not, I was going to learn what I could.

Re: Teller Interview
I smiled and shrugged at Dean "Actually, Evie asked me to come here."
The smile slipped off my face. I wasn't sure why, but I felt like I had to explain to Dean why Evie would ask me to come butt in on all their lives. "My dad died two weeks ago. Evie...is all I have"
I looked away from him and took the beer. I took a moment to compose myself so that after I'd opened the beer and looked at him again, the smile was planted on my face again.
"So, if I get this job, I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of each other" I winked at him
I walked over to the bike and bent over, still drinking my beer, while I had a look at it. I circled around it once just to make sure I hadn't missed anything and then stood up straight and smirked at Jax.
"You still need to replace the spark plug and the break cable. That's all" I shrugged and took another sip of my beer.

I chuckled at Dean "Start her off easy? This coming from the guy that's only just now learning about bikes"
I went over and sat down in the chair beside Evelyn while Jade looked over the bike.
"So, you and your cousin real close? Cus if so and I don't end up hiring her to work here, I can always give her a job at the Clubhouse" I smiled, talking quietly so Jade wouldn't hear and realize I was mostly just gonna hire her for Evelyn's sake.
I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and look impressed though when Jade suddenly stood up and told me what needed to be done on the bike.
"Ok..." I laughed "You're hired. You can start tomorrow, right?"

Re: Teller Interview
"Yeah but Jade has a lot of experience because of her dad." I said in defense to Dean and laughed. "So Dean spent most of his time fixing just his car and Jade spent her time fixing everything."
I was a year younger than Jade so I looked up to her like she was my older sister. I thought Jade could touch the sun if she really wanted to. I might not have seen her a whole lot while we were growing up but we always kept in touch by the phone and writing - and then the internet when our father's had finally allowed us to have it.
"Yeah we are." I nodded to Jax and had to bite my lower lip to keep from grinning because I knew he was going to hire Jade for something because of me. I'd asked him for so many favors since he'd moved here that I felt bad for it. Like I was taking advantage of him somehow.
"You know that you don't have to do anything for me, right?" I said quietly so that Jade couldn't hear. "I mean.. after everything that you've done already.." I fiddled with my beer bottle for a moment. "I mean I'm not going to talk you out of doing Jade any favors but I don't want you to think I'm taking advantage of you or anything."
I chuckled as both the boys looked impressed by Jade and I gave her a wink.
"Looks like you're going to be a hit here after all."

Re: Teller Interview
"Evie?" I blinked and then it dawned on me and I laughed. "Oohh, Evelyn. Duh."
I frowned when she mentioned her dad and I promptly looked at the floor. I knew how losing someone was and I felt bad for even having asked. I wished that I would have just kept my curiousity to myself.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled quietly but mostly to myself. I shifted and took a couple of very large drinks of my beer and then gave a large smile to Jade when she said if she got hired we'd be seeing a lot more of each other. My eyes seemed to have gone back to their old state and was enjoying the view in front of them. The flesh of of her stomach was visible because the sweater she was wearing didn't completely cover it and I found myself wishing, for the first time in a year, that she'd worn less.
"I hope so. Someone has to teach me how to fix these things." I chuckled as I jabbed my thumb at the bike and then laughed at Jax. "Bite me, dude."
I really tried my best not to look too excited when Jax said that Jade was hired. I thought work was just going to be that much more fun now. I took another drink of my beer and took a step back from Jade to give her some space because I realized I was standing over her shoulder and I didn't want to freak her out.
"So do you live close to Evelyn at all?" I asked. "Jax and I live in the same apartment building." I chuckled. "It's easier to give Evelyn a ride to work too, when her car decides not to start." I couldn't resist teasing her. "But what about you?"

Re: Teller Interview
I patted Dean's shoulder when he apologized. I felt the muscle under his shirt and had to force my hand to get back off him before it started to explore the new territory. "You don't have to be sorry. It's not your fault."
I laughed and nodded to Evie "Damn right I had to fix everything. Cars, bikes, computers, household appliances...if it broke, I had to fix it"
I grinned when Jax said I was hired and Evie told me I'd be a hit around here "Yeah, I can start tomorrow and I'm glad I'll fit in" I chuckled to Evie "Better than being the outsider freak or something"
The strangest thing happened when Dean stepped back away from me. I hadn't realized he was hovering over my shoulder; but when he stepped away, I felt the distance between us suddenly. It was like I felt cold or something. I blinked and glanced back over my shoulder to see where he'd gone.
"Huh?" I blinked again, trying to figure out why he'd stepped away this time.
I even attempted to sniff my shirt discretely to see if I smelled or something before answering his question about where I lived.
"Oh, I live downstairs from Evie" I chuckled and shrugged "We wanted to be close to each other."
